| Sending out a quick reminder to get your tickets to our year end celebration if you haven’t already and let you know that the SO Nanaimo Annual Meeting will also take place just before the celebration begins.
The elections for the SO Nanaimo local committee will be held on the 4th and we’re always looking for more people to support the local. If you’re interested in learning more about how Special Olympics runs, want to have fun, and can attend one meeting a month we would love to hear from you. The positions on the local committee include:
Local Coordinator, Program Coordinator, Treasurer, Fundraiser, Volunteer Coordinator, Registrar, Event Coordinator, Secretary and Parent/Caregiver Liaison.

Date: Tuesday, July 4th
Location: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 256 (1630 East Wellington Road, Nanaimo, BC, V9S 5P8)
Time: Annual Meeting is at 5:30pm and dinner will be served at 6:00pm.
Event Details: The night will feature karaoke so bring your best singing voice and a dinner consisting of pulled pork sliders, veggies, fruit on a stick with fruit punch to drink and an ice cream sundae bar! Dietary alternatives will only be considered if requested before June 20 so please let us know asap.
Cost: $10 for athletes, coaches and volunteers, $20 for family and supporters. It is free to attend the annual meeting if you just want to join for that portion of the night.
